Description
Section titled “Description”Face ID can be convenient, but it is not required for a secure iPhone. Our recommendation is to rely on a strong passcode for primary device access and keep Face ID limited to tasks like password autofill.
Apple’s documentation states biometric data used by Face ID never leaves your device and is not backed up to the Cloud. However, this is something privacy-minded users should consider before implementing.
