Reduce iPhone Keyboard Data Sharing

TitleReduce iPhone Keyboard Data Sharing

Categoryโš™๏ธ System Security & Communication

Your keyboard handles some of your most sensitive information, including messages, searches, names, addresses, and account details. Appleโ€™s built-in keyboard is the simplest choice for most people. Third-party keyboards can be useful, but some may request broader access that allows typed data to be processed outside the keyboard.

Keep only keyboards you trust, avoid unnecessary full-access keyboards, and turn off extra sharing for Siri and Dictation if you prefer less data review.

Use the menu paths below on your iPhone to find each setting and apply the recommendation that fits most people.

  • Voice Dictation: Lets you use voice-to-text from the keyboard.
  • Improve Siri & Dictation: This analytics toggle is covered in the Disable Analytics Sharing guide.
  • Auto-Correction and Predictive Text: These features are convenient, but they make the keyboard more active in interpreting what you type.
  • Stickers: Turn off sticker features if you do not use them and want a simpler keyboard.
